LIGHTBIRD LAUNCHES TWO NEW WOMEN’S OPTICAL MODELS
BAOBAB and SNAKE .
Two new 100% Made in Italy women’s models, characterized by innovative shapes, color combinations and design.
January 2020_ LIGHTBIRD launches two new women’s optical models : BAOBAB and SNAKE. The designer Corrado Rosson thus completes LIGHT_MATTER, the debut collection of the Bellunese brand, after having presented two other novelties in Munich: FLOWER and BUSINESSMAN.
New shapes and color combinations feature the frames that will expand the first collection, consisting of 17 optical and 5 sun models. The homonymous material patented by the Italian company testifies its D.N.A., linked to innovation and industrial technology. Light_MATTER was indeed born from the union of two materials: Italian Acetate and light hi-tech aluminium alloy.
BAOBAB and SNAKE recall, like the names of all the other frames in the collection, The Little Prince, the literary masterpiece by Antoine De Saint-Exupéry. Rosson loved this story and identified an affinity between the values conveyed by the novel and those belonging to the brand’s philosophy.

By experimenting with materials, used alone or in combination, it crafts frames whose minimalist design and avant-gardedetails coincide with consumer demand for new forms of modern essentiality.
Look made in Italia applies in-depth research on titanium to derive exceptional performance. Experimentation and many in-house trials produced considerably thinner rims, while maintaining the mechanical strength of this precious metal. As found in style 70590.55.M3, a generously sized round frame with high bridge and lean, clean design. Unisex eyewear that makes a contemporary style statement with restraint.
Extreme experimentation with the same quintessential material is applied to style 70597.54.M4 an ‘invisible’ frame by Materika. Made entirely of pure titanium, the front is just a few hundredths of a millimeter thick and the temples are attached to the end pieces by means of the in-house-developed, proprietary MHS* system. Eyewear for those who demand light weight infused with absolute technical perfection.
Another material of excellence is Alumix, an aluminum alloy with extraordinary qualities, developed in the company’s labs for incomparable lightness. Flexible, malleable and ecological, this material is completely recyclable and hypoallergenic. It is processed in three dimensions and allows for the creation of unique details and refined surface textures. Round and generously sized, style 70578.53.M2 is designed for the woman whose choices fly in the face of trends in favor of stylistic exploration and technical finishings expressed as absolute intrinsic value.

*The MHS (Materika Hinge System) hinge system was developed in the Look made in Italia Research Lab. It features a temple joint that lends practicality, light weight and excellent performance to the frame’s functionality profile. Distinguished by the iconic minimalist ‘grooved drum’ eyelet, the flared cylindrical structure serves as both a pivot and an extremely practical and immediately useable rim lock.
Once the lens has been mounted, this style requires no maintenance.

Every WooDone model is carved from a single panel composed of eight layers of chipboard obtained from recycled tree materials with certified origins from Alto Adige.
The pristine landscapes of the Dolomites inspire shapes that are influenced by the most contemporary fashion trends, which are redesigned to combine them with the natural beauty of wood. The collection includes both squared and well-defined shapes both softer and more feminine styles in the natural colours of Alto Adige wood: coppery brown walnut, golden cherry wood and warm black acacia. SAFILO DESIGN
La collection optique SAFILO DESIGN de la prochaine saison présente des modèles très intéressants destinés à une clientèle exigeante. Toute la collection est le fruit d’un savoir-faire soigné et de matériaux innovants.
Cette monture homme rectangulaire en acier léger (mod. SD 225) a un design moderne et une forte personnalité. Les tempes sont personnalisées avec une plaquette ornée d’un motif en bas-relief, la partie centrale des branches est perforée et les appuis auriculaires sont longs et en acétate. Le logo SAFILO DESIGN est gravé au laser et se détache discrètement sur des couleurs basiques : ruthénium foncé-havane foncé, marron-corne noisette, noir-gris fumé.
Pour un style recherché et exclusif : les modèles optiques en acier ont une forme rectangulaire et les verres sont soutenus par un fil de Nylon (mod. SD 226). Les tempes en métal sont ornées du monogramme “SD”, emblème de la collection. Les branches plates en acétate se déclinent dans des couleurs en contraste avec la face : ruthénium-le havane foncé, ruthénium-noir, marron-corne noisette.

La collection optique SAFILO DESIGN, dessinée par Enzo Sopracolle, est fabriquée et distribuée par le groupe Safilo.
