Huge success again this year for the Hong-Kong based eyewear company that never fails to amaze visitors thanks to its unique HDA® Technology

The 2017 Mido Fair which just ended was a fantastic event for OKIA – owner of the patented HDA® Technology – which was among the star players again this year at the most famous international eyewear show.

Playing to its strengths of innovation, creativity and passion, OKIA attended the Milan exhibition with an extremely refined booth that attracted an ongoing crowd of visitors and optics specialists during the three days of the show.

A Press Conference was held at the OKIA booth on February 26th to officially introduce the worldwide trade press to the latest goals reached by the company.
Art Deco, Galaxy Glacier and Gold Paradise – the irresistible new HDA® collections launched at Mido – were welcomed very positively thanks to their sensational mix of high technology and fashion. A huge interest was raised as well by 360 Hinge – a 360° rotated integrated hinge with worldwide invention patent by OKIA – and the revolutionary 100% bio-degradable Bio Lens, which can be broken down into CO2 and H2O within 120 days. Finally, attendees were surprised by the preview of the innovative Wave by OKIA Tech, an integrated eyewear technology transmitting sound waves directly to your ears that perfectly reflects OKIA’s commitment to develop state-of-the-art eyewear solutions for the future.

“It was a hugely successful Mido, a fact corroborated by both our Italian and foreign customers”, stated the company’s Head of Customer Project Management, Mabel Lam. “This extremely positive outcome was made possible, first and foremost, by the infinite and amazing possibilities that our patented HDA® Technology allows in terms of creativity and customization, which keep on surprising our clients year after year”

NEW EBLOCK COLLECTIONS:
ACETATE AND METAL FOR A PERFECT FUSION OF STYLE.

The optical brand “with block” expands his range and bet on the Made in Italy acetate of the Company Mazzucchelli. More, comes to life the BE-Original collection.

Craftsmenship, heritage, innovation: these are the fundamental and distinctive values of the E-BLOCK brand that was able to contaminate the tradition with innovative technologies. Though, shape refinement, the importance of the materials and expressive effectiveness of colours blend in a unique technology that express the mood of EBLOCK frames. The collections are the result of a very important history of experience and deep knowledge in the frames trade, but with creative talent in addiction.
The new models rediscover the acetate, a semi-finished plastic material with enormous ductility and a great expressive capacity that enable to obtain a frame resistant and at the same time very light, without sacrificing the design and the colour.
The esteemed plates of MAZZUCCHELLI, Made in Italy, renew and widen the collections Original and B-side with new unique and recognisable models, as well as the Easy Block, icon of the brand, aesthetical and distinctive element of all the E-Block collections.
Design and retrò inspired shapes, but with a modern view: thin thickness and soft and refined colours that want to blend with the complexion of the face. New processing, also in the grained plates, that show shiny, dull and scratched surfaces. Unique particulars that make frames strongly material and sculptural, giving a high quality to the handmade work.
In the occasion of the Opti Munchen 2017 there will be ten brand new models that will implement the B-Side, Side and Original family, giving life to the new Be-Original line. All the frames of the brand, very light and resistant, are realised with millimetre accuracy, inspired by a modern geometry that unites glamour and technology. Each E-Block is a fashion accessory, unique and elegant.

Red Rose Introduces New High-Density (HD) Acetate Spectacles

At Vision Expo East (VEE) 2017, Red Rose will release the Bianchi and the Milan, both of which provide superior strength and style in an ultra-lightweight construction of high-density (HD) acetate. This new material allows for a slender profile and even more resilience. Representing a step forward in optical design, the Bianchi and Milan take minimalism, Red Rose’s guiding philosophy, to the next level.

Bianchi

The Bianchi is a vintage-inspired cat-eye frame that has been masterfully handcrafted in Italy from high-density acetate—meaning that it’s slimmer and stronger than eyewear made from other acetates. This original model from the beloved Red Rose collection also features stainless steel temples, with a double bar construction, in accent colors that complement four feminine frame front color options. Unique trim décor provides the Bianchi with luxury detailing, while OBE screws offer a level of durability that is simply unmatched in minimalist eyewear

Milan

Renewing a classic style, the Milan unites the iconic round frame spectacle with modern high-density acetate from Italy—so it offers superior strength at a fraction of the weight of other acetates. The keyhole bridge is a badge of intellect, while stainless steel temples feature a double bar construction, reducing weight and imbuing this smart pair with unique luxury appeal. Adjustable temple tips, embossed with Red Rose’s iconic emblem, ensure a perfect fit all day long. The Milan is available in four colorations, from bold Azure Ripple and Crimson to classic Tortoise and Black.

WOODONE AT MIDO 2017
WOOD, HORN AND METAL FOR A GAME-CHANGING COLLECTION
The WooDone brand of wood eyewear from South Tyrol, inspired by the stunning landscapes of the Dolomite mountains, has added two new entries to its range that will be on display at Mido 2017.

Wood, the very heart and soul of the brand, has been teamed with horn and metal, creating precious, attention-grabbing styles and adding to a collection that is all about attention to detail and master craftsmanship.

The Horn Collection reproduces the eight styles that are already available in wood, cladding them in this even more precious material, in two versions: polished and matt. One-of-a-kind eyewear, handmade by expert craftsmen for a refined, unmistakable style.

Metal Wood Collection is a perfect mix of elegance and exquisitely tailored workmanship. By cleverly combining wood from the Dolomites with metal, WooDone has designed leading-edge styles with a chic, contemporary touch for sunglasses and specs. The eyewear in the Metal Wood Collection comes in a boxy format with double bridge for men, and in a rounded retro-style shape for women, softening the facial features.

The brand’s new collection has held on to its identity while expanding its range of offerings to the public by mixing materials with wood, the brand’s natural element and symbol, in an all-new way.

KLiiK denmark January 2017 releases

Style is more than just a look, it is an attitude! KLiiK denmark translates the boldness of the Northern European design into 4 new original and easy to wear styles for the winter season. Inspired by Scandinavian design and key fashion influences, each frame combines top quality materials and state-of-the-art technology with surprising edgy color combinations, original finishes and subtle patterns.

K-572 won’t go unnoticed thanks to the colored epoxy brushed onto the brow and the temples, which has been baked to produce a crinkly, textured cracked ice finish. The shiny silver bridge and eyewire provide an eye-catching contrast to the colored brow and temples, adding a contemporary feel to this unique style. K‑572 is available in a beautiful color palette of Honey, Sangria, Turquoise and Black.

k-572-469

K-573 is a semi-rimless stainless steel frame with a clean, sporty look. The laser cut wrap-around end piece elevates the simplicity of the front, while the step color block on the outside and the inside of the temples adds a subtle touch of color. Style K-573 combines masculine neutrals with vivid pops of color as seen in today’s menswear trends: Black Yellow, Navy Orange and Grey Blue.

k-573-475

Model K-585 offers a contemporary twist on a 90s style. This vintage inspired frame features a thin metal construction – a quieter contrast to the heavier frames in the market – and an iconic oval shape that creates an understated yet extremely sophisticated look. The delicate laser etched pattern on the bridge and the temples provides an interesting design element, while the color contrast gives the frame a modern appeal. K-585 is available in Black Red Demi, Cherry Black and Brown Demi.

k-585-425

With a retro inspired round eye shape – the hottest eyewear trend for 2017 – model K-588 will delight the stylish consumer in pursuit of originality. The 2-tone abstract pattern, transferred by pad printing, brings attention to the metal frame and is completed by a high gloss epoxy lacquer for a smooth, ultra-shiny finish. K-588 is available in a variety of up-to-the-minute colors including Black Silver, Brown Champagne, Turquoise Black and Burgundy Pink.
