GENESIS CHANGES SKIN
September 2010 – The lucky ones were able to obtain a preview a few months ago, during the Mido 2010 event, but the French Exhibition is where the success of the new GENESIS will be declared.
GENESIS is a young brand that speaks to the youth. Dynamic and particularly modern, it is capable of combining Italian style and design with a new concept of product developed with ecological products and eco-compatible manufacturing processes. The result is eyewear and sunwear mostly dedicated to a female audience (even if a few models can be freely worn also by a male audience) ranging between 18 and 35 years old, featuring a lively, cheerful and carefree style, thanks to details reminiscent of the world of nature and pastel colors.
The ‘70s retro style represents the leit motiv of the brand renewal, offering a fresh, delicate and sensual touch to the collection in its own innocence. The development of image led to models that combine perfectly metal and acetate, soft and light colors such as yellow, pink, and white enriched by details such as flowers, shells, and fossils in a perfectly harmonious ensemble, combined with small and essential shapes.
DESIGN
Elisio Tessaro, creator and designer of the collection, has always been a careful observer of generational trends tied to music and colour and he wanted to interpret through a naturalistic lens this new collection, taking inspiration from the concern for the environment that has been characterizing the most recent years.
He chose the details, the materials, and the eco-compatible manufacturing processes; a return to nature for this collection that completes Area’s range of products.

From a sales standpoint, the brand has been supported in a twofold fashion: on the one hand, Area created a wide range of POP materials and cases that remind of the lighthearted style of the collection. On the other hand, a new advertisement campaign particularly lively in colors, young and featuring great emotional involvement communicates the values of the brand. Driven by the “hippy” spirit of the ’70s, the new image combines delicate colors to the image of a young woman, beautiful and angelic, who wears GENESIS eyewear, the true protagonist of the scene. A touch of glamour and retro taste is offered by a bandana with patterns and colors that match to those of the collection.
