THE DESIGNER

 

Nirvan Javan was born in 1991 in Zurich and is of Persian descent. Even at a young age, his creative talent was evident. Through his passion for drawing and his interest in art and design, he developed his own unique style.

His studies in optometry honed his skills in the interplay of form and color. After successfully completing his degree as an optician, he set out to follow his dream of developing his own designer label.

From the beginning, Nirvan’s commitment was put to the test. He was not accepted at design school so decided to go the indirect route by first completing a business degree. This seemed like a setback initially, but the strong-willed designer knew how to turn the situation into an opportunity.

In the summer of 2015, Nirvan decided to put all his eggs into one basket. He abandoned his studies and founded the designer label NIRVAN JAVAN with his child- hood friend Patrick Zweifel. Together, the pair invested all their savings into their first EYEWEAR-collection, which they developed in Nirvan’s parents’ cellar. The cellar became the base for their young enterprise and it was from here that they delivered their first products to their partners.

Fast forward three years to autumn 2018 and NIRVAN JAVAN launched their fourth collection. In January 2019, they will exhibit for the first time at the OPTI in Munich. Today, the purist designs, which have become NIRVAN JAVAN’s signature style, are developed at the NIRVAN JAVAN atelier on the ETH Science City Campus in Zurich. Soon they are to be distributed internationally.

What was once a dream has now become a reality. With great passion and always striving for perfection, Nirvan creates designs that follow a clear line and are un- compromisingly stripped back to the essentials.

 

 

 

THE BRAND

 

NIRVAN JAVAN is committed to achieving a symbiotic relationship between people and design.The stylish, purist creations aim to accentuate the natural beauty of the wearer, rather than distracting from it.

The philosophy, passion and creativity of the designer are reflected in the simple elegance of the designs and manifest themselves in the character of the brand. What is important is separated from what is unimportant. The designs are reduced to their pure aesthetic essence.

In a hectic and loud world, NIRVAN JAVAN aims to create a sense of calm and simplicity, allowing the wearer to reflect on the essentials. It is a form of freedom that the brand wishes to pass on to the wearer.

The concept is derived from the designer‘s philosophy of life and is expressed in the brand‘s designs: „Highest quality standards are paired with the pursuit of perfection and an elegant form of purism.“

 

 

NIRVAN JAVAN EYEWEAR

 

NIRVAN JAVAN EYEWEAR is the result of many years of experience and the expertise of the eponymous optician and designer. NIRVAN JAVAN focuses on the wearer. Following a clear line and without a logo, the purist designs aim to enhance the natural beauty of the wearer.

The simple eyewear provides an insight into the work of NIRVAN JAVAN. From the lines to the colors and the use of exquisite materials – the creations illustrate the designer’s pursuit for perfection.

The current collection includes 20 acetate models, available in up to seven colors. In autumn 2018, a furthers six high-quality stainless steel designs in four matte color tones were added to the NIRVAN JAVAN EYEWEAR. At the OPTI 19, five new sunglasses designs will also be unveiled.

Like the previous collections, the current range is characterised by a color choice that can be described as „unobtrusively elegant.” From the point of view of the de- signer, this draws the attention to the unique appearance of the wearer. The pure, aesthetic elegance of the glasses act like a perfect frame for the face.

THE NEW WL0013 MODEL
For the upcoming Spring 2019 Vava presents new eyewear from the White Label,

the more classical line which identifies with simplicity, cleanness and purity.

 

The WL0013 model surprises for its iconic round shape and it’s made in cellulose acetate material

from the Italian brand Mazzuchelli.
VAVA is using their new and exclusive “eco-friendly” line M49. It is a Cellulose Acetate produced from cotton and wood-pulp fibres manufactured under a new formulation using substances from renewable sources.

It keeps all the aesthetical and performance characteristics of the traditional acetate.

This season FLEYE Copenhagen is introducing the second part of their “Flowers of Denmark” campaign. The ice blocks that were capturing the frozen flora in AW18
have melted and the flowers have given space for a soft float under water. These floral portraits with their stunning magnifying and color intensifying effects led to the new shapes and colors of the Spring Summer collection 2019.

We can’t wait to introduce you to 29 new eyewear designs at OPTI, Munich.

LIGHTBIRD is on the market as a start-up that, through two patents, offers a unique and innovative product. LIGHTBIRD embodies a world of values that can be identified with a « nest », ready to welcome those who are willing to share the same features. Indeed, technology is the means with which LIGHTBIRD succeeds in establishing a link with the entire supply chain and, specifically, with opticians, helping them to retain their customers. This relationship is established through a system called Light_nest that involves the use of an APP and the reading of the unique serial number inserted in the QR code positioned in the temple tip of each pair of glasses.

 

Innovation is in the D.N.A. of the brand also from the production point of view. LIGHTBIRD in fact adopts a new material, Light_matter, derived from the union of two materials: Italian acetate and hi-tech light aluminum alloy. Light_matter is the name given to the first collection, consisting of 13 prescription models and 2 sunglasses.

In honour of its name, Vulcan, in this model we find strong chromatic contrasts. The innovative material Light_matter in this case generates a strong chromatic contrast that defines the color C026. The monochromatic front in « light off » anthracite metal contrasts with the Light Orange acetate just like the incandescent lava on the slopes of a volcano. The easy shape makes Vulcano a contemporary eyewear and suitable for every face. Ideal for both a casual, informal look and a youthful, sporty one. The model is available in 4 shades.

PLANET

 

The sun model PLANET is characterized by a vintage style shape. The rounded lenses bring us back to the great splendour of the first decades of the twentieth century, but the innovative production system leads to a contemporary style. On the left lens the tiny round detail refers to LIGHTBIRD’s logo: the bird’s eye. The women’s sun collection includes 3 colors, including a very modern Etheric Pink contrasted by a mirror-polished metal front.

The deliberately uncluttered, fresh, clean shots let the product speak for itself in images that visually narrate the underlying concept of the Profili Edition.
